The following instructions are for GCC reporting employers.

Reporting and Submission Instructions

The following documents were created to provide instruction and assistance with properly completing a GCC report.

GCC reports may be submitted through the State Controller's Office Data Exchange Portal (DEP). The following documents were created to assist with registering a new account in DEP and submitting a completed GCC report through DEP.

Reporting Templates

The following templates are compatible with newer to current versions of Microsoft Excel (Office 2007 and later). If you are using an older version of Microsoft Excel (Office 97 - 03), please contact the Government Compensation Section at (916) 445-5153.

Government Code (GC) 53891 requires cities to submit an annual Government Compensation in California (GCC) report to the State Controller's Office (SCO). Pursuant to GC 53891, the GCC report for the previous calendar year is due no later than April 30th.

The compensation data is published to this website under the authority of GC 12463.
